Hands say more than mouths do
Someone else asked me what this meant, so I’ll add my explanation here.
(I’m scared I’ll sound too faux-deep or pretentious or something but) the “soft to the touch” bit was written in relation to the human pulse, which I kind of used to portray the literal sensation of life/the act of living, but the burning represents how the sensations that make our own lives/state of living apparent to us, are often what dually causes us some form of pain, ie, the burn mark.
